This series of light boxes continues my investigation and exploration of my surrounding environments I am interested in the structure of nature and the structures we make. By layering these images I want to create an imagined, but real fractured , space, a disjointed vision and perception of place These works seek to convey the limitations of the photograph, as a promise of an ideal landscape… and allude to the demise of the photograph as a true record of time and place in memory This is my 2nd time exhibiting at ARS, following a solo show in 2008

This collection of drawings consider our linear perception of time. How it decays, progresses and evolves through history. Using styles and forms echoing draftsmanship and scientific diagrams I create linear systems within my work, controlling and shaping areas of disorder. I have shown work at group shows in Melbourne and have shown video work at the Goethe Institute in Dublin, as well as at a small film festival in Sweden. Recently I have had a solo exhibition at Chapman and Bailey as well as at Pallas Contemporary Projects in Dublin, Ireland.

I am interested in objects that appear to have no particular function, and that would normally be described as tacky or ugly. In my work I like to juxtapose non-functional kitsch with discarded domestic items that usually fill up the shelves at OP shops or Salvos stores. To me these abandoned household items are like “object-ghosts”, having been useful once, they now hover somewhere in an in-between state of having been derived from their purpose by no longer being  in use, and waiting to be given a new context.
